Lease Registration Process
To create Legally Recognized Lease Documents, the Registry Section is tasked with doing so following the process below:

Officer(s) check that Application for Registration is in order and if so, a new file is created for New Lease |

Documents are Registered in the E-Land Registry System |

Plans are taken up for check up at the Lands Survey Section (Only for New Leases). |

Lease documents goes for Signing and it is subsequently stored digitally in a static format |

If Land Survey Section approves the Plan, Documents are Scanned and information entered into the E-Land Registry Systle |
Note - Manual entry of Lease Documents by Typists into Registration Books, Card Registers and Advice of Registration Documents has ceased as of July 2009 as, these manual processes have being Automated Digitally as part of a new Information System called the e-Land Registry.
Lease Registration Fee
Currently the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources collects 5% of the sale price from the purchaser for the trancfer of a lease. For more information on applicable state taxes & duties click here

Stamp Duty
Payment of stamp duty is made to the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission and is calculated at 2% of the value of the property.
